TaYA

TaYA is an Ethiopian non-profit, non-partisan, youth focused national CSO founded in 2003 by a group of dedicated professional volunteer youths united by a common vision of a healthy, empowered, prosperous, and dignified Ethiopian young community who have realized and exercised their full potential. Its motto is “empower youth – they will play a constructive part in their own growth, as well as the development of their community and the country at large.” Its aim is to promote youth empowerment, health, and well-being by removing barriers and helping them to reach their full potential by focusing primarily on social, economic, and political involvement and related concerns.

TaYA aims to engage in improving governance through making sure adolescent and young people are meaningfully participated in matters that
affect their live. We aim to work with federal and regional government. We promote for systems
and mechanism to be created for meaningful
and inclusive engagement of young people. We make this through working in close partnership with existing youth led and youth focused organizations.

Accountability is the other areas where we will engage ourselves to improve governance. This will be done through applying tested and workable social accountability strategies and promoting civic engagement. We will engage parliamentarians and other policy makers to create workable systems that is beneficial to adolescent and young people advancement.

We integrate peace building in all our programming’s. Our work focuses on promoting positive peace as an essential element to build lasting and sustainable peace. We will engage with our consistencies in the national level peace building efforts.
